Heart Horse

This quilt was created in 2023 with the intention of being entered in the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Week in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The quilt itself is based on a favorite image of mine of my first horse, Loreal, who sadly passed in 2015 at the age of 27. The term ‘heart horse’ refers to what can be compared to a soulmate. A heart horse is a horse which you ha e bonded with deeply and have a meaningful connection with even after you are no longer together.

In May 2023 the quilt was entered in the Tulip Time Quilt Show in Holland, Michigan; it was accepted and exhibited but did not place.

In June of 2023 I was informed that it was also accepted into the AQS Quilt Week contest where it will be exhibited in Devos Place in Grand Rapids, Michigan in September 2023.
