Alive: Quilted Wall Art

$250.00

This wall hanging, as featured in Issue 120 of Love Patchwork and Quilting Magazine, is meant to represent a positive affirmation. While, you can read in detail about my choices within the wall hanging design, I chose the word ‘alive’ and the cardinal flower, which often grows along the riverside in the most unexpected places, as a reminder to myself that even when I am struggling through difficult circumstances and situations, as long as I am alive there is hope. So, I stay alive not only for my family but also for myself.

I want to sell this piece as a reminder to someone else out there that as long as you are alive, it is not the end, no matter how much it may feel like it is.

This wall hanging is roughly 22 in x 15.5 in and comes with corner pockets on the back and a flat wooden dowel to assist with hanging. The majority of the piece is a Foundation paper pieced quilt block that has been free motion quilted by me. I have embroidered the cardinal flower and word ‘alive’ onto the quilt by hand using embroidery floss.
